The “Mac and Dennis Make a Cocktail” is a perfectly balanced and complex Tingala cocktail. Created by Aaron Forgy, Proprietor at Block & Larder, one of our favorite Denver Berkeley neighborhood spots, this drink showcases the tactile tingle of Tingala by pairing it with the black cherry and caraway notes in Avuá Amburana Wood Aged Cachaça. Amburana is an exotic Brazilian wood that adds a slightly different flavor than oak to this cocktail, which embraces both Colorado craft spirits and exotic botanical ingredients. Recipe:
Mac & Dennis Make a Cocktail
1.5 oz Avuá Amburana Wood Aged Cachaça
1 oz Tingala
1/2 oz Lemon
1/2 oz OJ
1/2 oz Agave
Preparation: Shake, strain over 1 large cube into rocks glass. Top with 3 dashes Angostura bitters.
It is also fun to experiment with different kinds of cachaça or rum if you don’t have the Avuá Amburana Wood Aged Cachaça kicking around the liquor cabinet, but for best results, we recommend sticking to the original recipe.
