Summer 2020: “Take It Esses” with Zig Zag Smokin’ Burger and Meatball Eatery

As seen in Denver Westword’s 6/25/2020 “Sips of Summer,” Tingala has teamed up with Greenwood Village’s Zig Zag Smokin’ Burger and Meatball Eatery (same building) for the fresh flavored “Take It Esses” cocktail on their summer drink list. Strawberry and lime complement the caramel notes of Tingala buzz button spirits against a palette of tequila, banane liqueur, and grenadine. The tingling gets going after a few sips of this unique cocktail. Available from the bar or for takeout. Social distancing measures are in place.

To make this drink:

2 oz. Tequila Blanco
.50 oz. Banane (banana) Liqueur
.50 oz. Tingala
.50 oz. Grenadine
.50 oz. Strawberry Syrup*
1 oz. Lime Juice

Shake and double strain into a king cube-filled old-fashioned glass.  Garnish with a strawberry.

*For the strawberry syrup: In a saucepan, combine 1 cup sugar with 1 cup water. Heat and stir, dissolving the sugar, and bring to a boil. Remove from heat, add 1 pound strawberries quartered or chopped, and allow to cool. Place in fridge to steep overnight. Strain into a clean jar (reserve the strawberries for cocktail garnishes or topping pancakes or ice cream). Cover and keep refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.
